HYPE's got a blog...

Hello all,
HYPE's moving to the Internet age with our very own blog. We'll be using this to keep you up to date on events and meetings. If you don't know what HYPE is here's a little overview.

HYPE stands for "Helping Young Professionals Excel."
HYPE is a networking group for young professionals in Johnson City, TN and surrounding areas. The main purpose of HYPE is to "Help Young Professionals Excel" in both their careers and their community. The group helps encourage young men and women ages 20-45 in their professional development through information, education, and empowerment.
It seems that the X and Y Generations want to take fresh and creative approaches to today's issues. HYPE is one vehicle to introduce today's young professionals to each other as well as acquaint them with civic/community happenings in the area.

FAQ About HYPE
Why was this group started?
The Tri-Cities region, specifically Johnson City, has a notable 25- 40 population. Something needed to be done to encourage those who call this region home.

Why should young professionals join?
It is positive for young professionals to get together and share ideas and hear their vision for the Tri-Cities region. By and large, young professionals in this area want to participate in the civic and political process, but they don't want to get stuck in bureaucracy. Hopefully, there are young professionals in Johnson City-Washington County who understand their commitment to the community and will allow HYPE to become that resource for networking and creative problem solving.

What are the short and long-term goals for HYPE?
Short-term goals: Expand membership, develop our by-laws, and identify those projects/events that appeal most to our demographic.
Long-term goals: To see HYPE become an organization that realizes its role and influence in community and economic development in Johnson City-Washington County, and the Tri-Cities region.

When does HYPE meet?
HYPE meets the third Tuesday of each month at various locations in Johnson City. Check back here or e-mail hypejc@gmail.com to be updated on upcoming meetings/events.

What about sponsorship?
Those interested in sponsorship of the group can also e-mail hypejc@gmail.com. HYPE is looking for partners/ sponsors for upcoming professional development events, as well as future marketing materials.
